Hi, I’m Fred Litwiniuk. I’ve been a practicing lawyer for over 23 years and in fact, I grew up in a law firm. The very first law firm that I ever spent time in was Litwiniuk and Company, a law firm started by my parents. And I spent time there as a baby in a bassinet on the floor. I did every job in the firm from being the janitor to eventually running the firm. My mother, Marianne, is an immigrant to Canada and my father was born and raised in Calgary. Growing up here, it’s a wonderful place to grow up with wonderful people. What motivates me is this desire to shift the legal profession. We’re part of an incredible system of laws, the rule of law, and I think that the best way to honour those is by delivering the best results for clients, and at all times, being a model for what the profession can and should be. I understand what it’s like to be a lawyer. I understand what it’s like to sit in the chair, to do the job, to bear the weight of tremendous responsibility, and to uphold the public interest as part of a larger system. This is at its heart a family business. It was started by my parents and we are blessed to be able to continue on and honour that legacy. And I think that the clients feel that. I think they feel the energy that we bring to it. I think they feel that there’s something different about it.
