We never bill by the hour

Founded in 1976 by Larry and Marianne Litwiniuk, Litco Law began as Litwiniuk & Company, providing compassionate legal advocacy to injured Albertans. From the very beginning, the firm has been rooted in family and built on care, trust, and an unshakeable commitment to the communities it serves.

Today, Litco Law is led by their sons, Todd and Fred Litwiniuk, who ensure the guiding principles that shaped the firm remain at the centre of everything we do. But with 50 years of practicing law under our belt, we’ve picked up a thing or two that have helped us raise the bar on what clients can expect.

With decades of experience supporting our clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives, we believe the role of a law firm extends beyond the legal legwork. While we handle every step of the claims process from start to resolution, we also offer guidance, empathy, and genuine kindness that can make all the difference for our clients.

At Litco Law, we’re known as Lawyers You’ll Love because we flip the script on traditional lawyer stereotypes. We recognize that an accident and unexpected injuries could lead to serious physical, financial, and emotional stress, and we aim to make the legal process easier, clearer, and more approachable.

Clarity and Accessibility

Our team understands how overwhelming an accident can be, but we explain everything in plain language and avoid complex legal jargon that can make the process more confusing. You deserve support that feels human, transparent, and accessible at every stage.

Approachable Spaces

Client care drives how we design our physical and digital spaces. Instead of stuffy, intimidating waiting rooms, our modern offices feature welcoming, comfortable lounges. And, when needed, we also provide seamless remote and virtual access options. We’ll use your preferred method of contact to make it easier to connect.

With so many law firms in Alberta, we set out to do things differently and change how people think about the legal industry. Here are some ways we continue to set a higher standard:

  • The pod structure: When you work with us, you don’t just get a lawyer. You get your own personal legal team that will be with you throughout the course of your claim. We call this team a “pod.” It includes a lawyer, a case manager, a client care specialist, and a legal assistant who work together to deliver the personalized attention you deserve.
  • Innovative technology: Our easy-to-use client portal allows you to check on the status of your claim from anywhere, at any time, so you’re never chasing updates.
  • Investment in our team: We find and develop the very best talent to be thought leaders and think outside the box. We focus on growing as a team to better serve you.

Lesson 3: Clear Communication and Transparency Build Client Trust

When you’re recovering after an accident, we believe you shouldn’t have to deal with hidden fees or uncertainty about your claim. Over the years, we’ve built trusting relationships with our clients through clear and open communication and transparency about our fee structure. That way, there are no surprises, and you know exactly what to expect when you work with us.

If you decide to move forward with our team, we never bill by the hour, and you won’t pay us anything while your claim progresses. Our fee is a percentage of the compensation we recover for you, and you’ll know that percentage before you ever hire us.

Throughout the claims process, you will receive regular updates on your claim every 30 days or less, and a 24-hour response time for messages and questions. We explain everything clearly and make sure you feel comfortable and confident with your options and decisions.

Lesson 4: Living Our Core Values Drives Excellence

At Litco Law, we turn to our core values to guide our behaviours, decisions, and how we approach every claim. We’ve found that living these principles every day pushes us to serve our clients better and helps us reach more meaningful results. Our core values include:

  • Own it: We are proud of who we are and what we do, and we’re not afraid to go the extra mile.
  • Empathy: Our team actively listens, puts ourselves in your shoes, and takes steps to address the unique challenges you’re facing.
  • Kindness: Respect and kind words and actions lift others up and help them feel good about themselves.
  • Ask why: For us, it’s not enough to simply show up and do the work. We let the “why” drive us to find a better way to do things.
  • Don’t blame: We are collaborative problem-solvers and focus on finding solutions rather than pointing fingers.

Teamwork That Makes a Real Difference

The supportive culture we’ve built at Litco Law has earned our award-winning team national recognition, over 1,000 five-star Google reviews, personal referrals, and heartfelt testimonials from clients we have had the privilege to assist. We were named Top Choice Injury Law Firm for 2026, which marks our 12th consecutive year receiving this award.

We are deeply grateful to the communities we serve for trusting us with their legal needs. Our Alberta lawyers can assist with different types of claims, including:

Lesson 5: A 50-Year Legacy Is Reflected in Our Commitment to the Alberta Communities We Serve

For over 50 years, true leadership at Litco Law has meant putting empathy into action. Through Litco Cares, we actively give back to the Alberta communities that have supported us for decades. We champion meaningful grassroots causes and proudly sponsor local institutions to foster unity and connection between our team and those we serve.

Litco Law also focuses on making Alberta a fairer, more inclusive place for everyone. We actively live our commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion by partnering with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) and ensuring our internal culture and community outreach reflect the values of our firm and our province.

For us, practicing law is more than just representation. It’s an ongoing promise to advocate for fairness, donate our time, and stand as an example of what kindness and compassion can do.

As we look ahead, we are committed to keeping our team anchored in the values that have defined us. However, we plan to continue growing and evolving to provide the highest level of service for decades to come.

Through it all, our core purpose remains: To balance the power between our clients and the powerful and resourceful entities that may not always treat them fairly. For example, after an accident, people may assume the insurance company will take care of them. What they may not realize is that insurance companies are sophisticated organizations with experienced adjusters and legal teams whose role is to protect the company’s interests.

Our team will continue leveling the playing field, standing up for those who need help, and handling the processes and legal work, so our clients can focus on their lives and what matters most to them. We have offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, and Lethbridge, and offer free consultations.
